About the role
We are now looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Nucleus Stockperson to join our specialist nucleus herd team in Peterborough.
This is a unique opportunity to work with some of the most genetically advanced purebred and hybrid pig lines in Europe. As Nucleus Stockperson, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of our nucleus herd, supporting breeding, performance recording and genetic improvement programmes.
This is a physically demanding role that will require flexibility and commitment, including longer hours during busy periods. In return, you will work alongside a highly experienced team with over 50 years of combined expertise in pig genetics and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily care and management of nucleus breeding stock
- Weighing, tagging and recording piglet performance data
- Operating and managing Electronic Identification (EID) systems
- Collecting and recording on-test and off-test performance information
- Monitoring animal health and welfare to the highest standards
- Supporting breeding and genetic improvement programmes
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring attention to detail at all times
- Contributing to a high-health environment and strict biosecurity standards

Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- No exposure to other pig farms due to strict biosecurity requirements
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable Experience
- Previous pig or livestock experience
- Understanding of Electronic Identification (EID) equipment
- Interest in genetics, production performance and technical livestock management
