We're looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join our team at The Herbalist in Maidstone. This role is ideal for a strong CDP ready to step up or an existing Junior Sous seeking a new challenge in a fast-paced quality driven environment.
Annual salary up to £29741.00 pa (estimated earnings up to £37,000.00 pa with tronc) - 45 hours per week
What you’ll do
- Support the Sous and Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
- Lead sections during service and maintain high culinary standards
- Train and mentor junior team members
- Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and stock management are consistently upheld
What we’re looking for
- Experience in a similar role or as a senior Chef de Partie
- Passion for fresh, seasonal cooking
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Calm, positive attitude under pressure
- A genuine desire to grow and develop within the team
