Fire Systems Designer & Business Development Manager

Wellcom Fire and Security is an NSI Silver and BAFE Silver accredited fire and security installer, working with commercial clients across the UK on fire alarm, disabled refuge, intruder alarm, access control, CCTV, and intercom systems.
We're looking for an office-based Fire Systems Designer and Project Manager to take ownership of projects from design through to completion. You'll work across estimating, project management, certification/documentation, and client relationships — a varied role for someone who likes to see a job through start to finish.
What you'll be doing:
Designing and estimating fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and intercom systems in line with British Standards and client specs
Managing projects from award to completion — scheduling engineers, tracking costs, coordinating multi-discipline works
Compiling NSI/BAFE-compliant certification packs, O&M manuals, and as-fitted documentation
Building strong client relationships and identifying repeat business opportunities
What we're looking for:
A regulated Level 3 qualification (Level 6 in Scotland) relevant to fire detection and alarm system design to BS 5839-1 — this is a BAFE requirement for lead personnel
Solid experience within the fire industry, with good working knowledge of fire alarm systems and their design/installation
Working knowledge of relevant British Standards (e.g. BS 5839-1)
Strong Excel/IT skills and excellent communication
Highly organised, comfortable managing multiple live projects
Full UK driving licence
