Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Domestic Cleaner to join our team at a residential care home. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment for residents and staff alike. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the comfort and wellbeing of our residents through meticulous cleaning and organisation. Prior experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial duties, or hospital environments is highly desirable, as it ensures the delivery of high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to providing exceptional care through cleanliness. Please note this role requires some weekend work and will be on a rolling rota of 1 in 3 weekends
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of all communal areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and corridors within the care home
- Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment to ensure surfaces are sanitised effectively
- Maintain high standards of hygiene in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling protocols are followed
- Restock supplies such as toiletries, cleaning materials, and consumables as needed
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to management
- Follow infection control procedures diligently to prevent the spread of germs and illnesses
- Assist with organising laundry services where applicable
Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is advantageous
- Experience working in hospital or healthcare environments is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to follow health and safety guidelines diligently
