We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Swimming Instructor to join our bespoke swim programme.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality swimming lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to promote water safety, develop coaching skills, and inspire confidence in learners.
The Swimming Instructor will work in a supportive environment, ensuring all participants enjoy a safe and enjoyable experience in the pool.
Our swimming instructors have a passion for learning, teaching and fun within the pool. Our own tailor-made swim programme is geared towards a relaxed environment for all our swimmers.
This job is based in Glasgow Argyle Hotel.
Hours are 10am - 12.30 Tuesday & Thursday
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging swimming lessons tailored to the abilities and needs of each participant
- Demonstrate proper swimming techniques and water safety procedures
- Monitor participants’ progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement
- Maintain a safe environment by enforcing pool rules and safety protocols at all times
- Prepare lesson plans and organise class schedules effectively
- Assist with organising swimming events, competitions, or specialised training sessions
- Foster a positive atmosphere that encourages participation, confidence, and enjoyment
- Ensure equipment is well-maintained and report any hazards or issues promptly
Experience
- Prior swim teaching experience is essential.
- Proven teaching ability, ideally within a swimming or aquatic setting
- Knowledge of water safety standards and emergency procedures
- Enthusiastic, patient, and able to motivate learners of all ages
- Relevant certifications such as ASA/STA/SSTQ Swimming Teaching qualifications or equivalent are essential.
- Safety certification for teachers is preferred
