Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Solar Design Team Leader to oversee our Domestic and Commercial solar installation projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of solar technology, design, and construction processes. This role involves coordinating with team members, managing project timelines, and ensuring the successful execution of solar designs while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the solar PV design team
- Produce and review system layouts, inverter & string designs, and mounting solutions
- Ensure all designs meet MCS and DNO standards
- Liaise with scaffolders, structural engineers, roofers, and electricians to ensure install-ready designs
- Support compliance, survey, and installation teams
- Manage workloads and ensure design deadlines are met
Requirements:
- Strong PV design experience (roof placement, inverter sizing, string calculations, cable runs)
- Solid understanding of MCS standards, G98/G99, and DNO processes
- Confident coordinating with trades and professionals across projects
- Leadership or team management experience
Desirable:
- Electrical qualifications
- Construction qualifications
- Retrofit or energy efficiency background
- Familiarity with SolarEdge design and monitoring systems
- Experience working on social housing

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
