Positive Paths Children and Young People is a community interest company which specialises in working with children and young people with additional support needs.
We primarily work 1:1 and in small groups, supporting our young people to access the community, build confidence, independence and further their communication and social skills. We support those aged 5 to 30 with a range of additional needs including autism, learning disabilities and mental health needs.
We currently support around 100 children and young people across Edinburgh and our team is made up of approximately 40 staff. We have a base in Canonmills but most of our support is based out in the community throughout Edinburgh.
Job Description
We are currently recruiting for 2 full time post from Monday - Friday and Tuesday - Saturday. You must hold a full UK license for this post.
The role involves supporting children and young people with additional support needs to access activities in the community, ensuring they are safe and well cared for. Activities include but are not limited to swimming, going to the park and museum and zoo trips. We also have a base where we undertake activities such as sensory play, music therapy and arts and crafts.
In order to be successful in this role, we are looking for individuals who are motivated, reliable and enthusiastic, and who enjoy working with children and young people.
Experience working with children or with individuals with additional support needs is preferred however full training will be given when starting the role.
A full UK drivers license is essential or access to your own car that you are willing to use for work. A PVG check will be carried out as part of your recruitment and you will be asked to register with the SSSC.

- Starting salary @ £13.50 per hour.
