Job Description
We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias who is ambitious, driven and pro-active to assist in all aspects of the company’s operational activities.
J&P Group provides specialist engineering service solutions across industrial and manufacturing environments, supporting maintenance, reliability and operational performance for customer sites.*
The successful candidate will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, total productive maintenance, fault finding, breakdown support and installation activities across a variety of customer sites.
Daily tasks will involve working on electrical systems, mechanical equipment, PLC fault finding, installations, maintenance documentation and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and machine servicing activities.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
- Interrogate PLC systems for fault finding.
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Complete electrical and mechanical installations.
- Support continuous improvement and reliability activities.
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately.
- Maintain exceptional health and safety standards at all times.
The Right Candidate Will Have
- Time-served Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias.
- HNC qualification or equivalent in Engineering.
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills.
- PLC interrogation experience.
- Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Automated manufacturing experience desirable.
- 18th Edition qualification desirable.
- Reliability or continuous improvement experience desirable.
- A can-do attitude towards daily tasks.*
- Ability to work alone or as part of a wider team.*
- Flexible attitude with willingness to support overtime or weekend work when required.*
Work Location
North East England, with travel to customer sites and occasionally further afield depending on customer and contract requirements.

Salary
£45,000 - £50,000 per annum plus overtime opportunities.
