This is an exciting nursing opportunity in the Division of Surgery, Cancer and Children and Young People. You will be joining a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) supported by the Joint Reconstruction Consultants to provide care for adult patients, preparing for knee or hip arthroplasty and those who require surveillance after arthroplasty surgery. The role involves practice in both the outpatient and in-patient departments.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse with excellent communication skills. Previous orthopaedic experience at Band 6 demonstrating knowledge of the specialist care needs of this patient group is essential. The successful applicant must also possess good leadership skills along with effective organisational and time management proficiencies. The role involves working autonomously and as part of a strong multidisciplinary team in order to deliver high quality care.
An aptitude to teach and educate others is an important aspect of this role. You will promote the CNS team and be able to demonstrate a commitment to the Trust’s ethos by maintaining professional standards of care within the RNOH orthopaedic community.
Job Summary
Ensure patients receive a high level of quality harm free care at all times and contribute to the monitoring of this through audit or other KPIs/ or outcome measures.
Support the Lead CNS to manage your service within the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, to ensure effective patient centred care is provided to all patients.
Utilise advanced Nursing knowledge and skills to deliver a high-quality patient experience through the speciality pathways.
To provide expert knowledge / clinical leadership to the nursing and administrative staff within your service and the wider healthcare team. Utilise the Clinical Nurse Educators to ensure support the development of staff and students. Be responsible for the provision and delivery of education /training about your service, to all levels of staff and to patients, their carers and external healthcare partners. Support the Lead CNS to co-ordinate all aspects of your service across the trust with your team members. Act as an information resource on your service issues.
