Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including flatbed trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load, secure, and unload cargo efficiently while ensuring proper handling of fragile or heavy items
- Plan delivery routes to optimize time and fuel efficiency, adjusting as needed for traffic or weather conditions
- Verify delivery addresses, obtain necessary signatures, and complete all required documentation accurately
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status or any unforeseen issues
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to maintain safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service by representing the company professionally during deliveries
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with experience handling flatbed or commercial vehicles
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus
- Strong knowledge of driving safety protocols and traffic regulations
- Ability to operate flatbed trucks and secure loads properly
- Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with GPS technology
- Physically capable of lifting heavy items and performing vehicle inspections as needed
