Prostart Training are looking to recruit a Functional Skills Tutor to deliver Maths and English Entry Level, Level 1 and 2 Functional Skills.

We are looking for individuals with exceptional people skills, who are dedicated to supporting learners to achieve their goals. Successful applicants will have substantial experience of working with learners towards Functional Skills – Maths, English up to level 2 or have occupational experience wanting to pursue a change of career moving into teaching and mentoring. This role will include both online and face to face assessment meetings, progress reviews and training sessions.
Duties:
· Lead a caseload of learners and support them to achieve their Functional Skills required for their programme.
· Deliver training sessions to learners undertaking the Functional Skills in Maths and English
· Regularly assess/mark work and provide constructive feedback to both learners and their managers
· Managing your diary efficiently to ensure timely visits and reviews are conducted.
· Organise and maintain documentation on learners' progress.
· Support, advise and motivate learners.
· Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.
· Work to learner review and completion timescales.
· Meet Functional Skills Tutor KPI’s in terms of timely visits, quality paperwork and general administration.
Qualification Essential Criteria:
· Recognised Assessor Award D32/D33 / A1 or equivalent or be willing to work towards
· Good standard of general education to GCSE level (or equivalent) to include GCSE in English and Maths at Grade B or above
· QTS/QTLS or equivalent professional teaching qualification/Bachelor’s level degree within the subject you teach.
· Minimum 6 months teaching/tutoring experience.
· Experience working with students with SEN, SEMH learning needs - Desirable
· In-depth knowledge of the national curriculum for Functional Skills.
· Must live and be eligible to work in the UK.
· Must be willing to undertake a full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and referencing process, as well as subscribing to the DBS Update Service.
Personal Qualities & Skills:
· Organisational skills are a must, as well as the ability to plan your time effectively.
· Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people.
· Experience of delivering Functional Skills in Maths and English up to Level 2
· Full, clean, UK driving licence and use of a vehicle.
· Must be flexible with travel across the Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Derby, Derbyshire
· Ability to work without direct supervision
· Able to work under pressure
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Keyboard and computer skills - Use of electronic information systems, Microsoft packages (e.g. Outlook email, Word and Excel), SharePoint
· Experience of managing and building work relationships with customers
