Wedding & Events Sales Co-Ordinator
Salary: £26,500–£27,500 per year, Pro Rata for Part time - depending on experience
Location: Thornton Manor Country Estate
Job Type: Part-time - Full-Time- Permanent
About the Role
Thornton Manor Country Estate is looking for a confident, motivated and commercially focused Wedding & Events Sales Co-Ordinator to join our team.
This is primarily a sales-focused role, with responsibility for converting wedding and event enquiries into confirmed bookings, maximising revenue opportunities and building strong relationships with prospective couples and clients.
You will be responsible for managing leads from initial enquiry through to booking, conducting engaging venue show-rounds, following up consistently and confidently asking for the sale.
While the role sits within our Weddings & Events team, wedding coordination may also be required on an ad hoc basis. The main focus of the position is generating sales, increasing conversion rates and helping Thornton Manor achieve its wedding and event revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
Respond quickly and professionally to all new wedding and event enquiries
Proactively convert enquiries into venue viewings and confirmed bookings
Conduct engaging and personalised venue show-rounds, confidently presenting Thornton Manor and its accommodation
Build rapport with prospective couples and understand their requirements, budget and priorities
Follow up all enquiries and viewings consistently to maximise conversion
Confidently handle objections and work to secure the booking
Proactively contact warm leads and previous enquiries to generate additional sales
Promote available packages, upgrades and additional services to maximise revenue
Identify opportunities to upsell accommodation and other estate services
Maintain accurate records of enquiries, viewings, follow-ups and bookings within our CRM/booking systems
Work towards agreed sales, conversion and revenue targets
Monitor the sales pipeline and ensure leads are actively progressed rather than left unattended
Support wedding fairs, open days and other sales-focused events
Develop excellent knowledge of Thornton Manor, its packages, accommodation and unique selling points
Liaise with the marketing team regarding campaigns, promotions and lead generation
Provide regular updates on enquiries, conversions, bookings and sales activity
Wedding & Event Support
The primary focus of this position is sales rather than wedding coordination. However, as part of a small and flexible team, you will be required to:
Assist with wedding or event coordination during busy periods
Support couples with occasional planning queries following booking
Provide front-of-house support at weddings, open days or special events
Assist with guest accommodation queries and check-ins when required
About You
We are particularly interested in candidates who are naturally sales-driven and enjoy the challenge of turning an enquiry into a booking.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience in a sales, venue sales, wedding sales, hospitality sales or events sales role
A proven ability to convert enquiries or leads into confirmed sales
Confidence conducting face-to-face appointments and venue show-rounds
A proactive approach to following up leads – you won't simply wait for customers to come back to you
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
A confident but personable sales style
Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the importance of targets and conversion rates
Excellent organisation and attention to detail
The ability to manage multiple enquiries and follow-ups simultaneously
Confidence using CRM, booking systems and Microsoft Office
A positive, enthusiastic and professional approach
Flexibility to work weekends and evenings for viewings, open days and events
Experience within weddings or events would be beneficial, but strong sales ability is the priority. Candidates from other target-driven sales environments are also encouraged to apply.
What We Offer
- 28 days annual leave
- Free on-site parking
- The opportunity to work within one of the region's most distinctive wedding venues
How to Apply
Please send your CV along with a brief covering message explaining your sales experience and why you would be suited to a target-driven wedding and events sales role.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about sales, confident speaking with prospective couples and motivated by the satisfaction of turning an enquiry into a confirmed booking.
