Join our team as an Activity Coordinator and become a vital part of enriching the lives of the residents in our care. In this role, you will design, organize, and lead engaging activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a diverse calendar of activities tailored to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s.
- Lead engaging group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, games, exercise classes, and social events that encourage participation.
- Collaborate with caregiving staff to assess individual resident preferences and adapt activities accordingly.
- Monitor resident engagement during activities, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation and resident feedback to continually improve programming.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in care home or nursing homes is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of senior care principles, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
- Excellent communication skills to connect with residents of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Demonstrated creativity in planning engaging activities that cater to various cognitive and physical levels.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team dedicated to compassionate care.
- Passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors through meaningful engagement.
Pay: £12.75 per hour
Expected hours: 12.0 – 20.0 per week
