We are dedicated to enhancing resident wellbeing through effective medication management, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services.
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Qualified Dispenser to join our expanding pharmacy team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accurate dispensing and timely supply of medications to care homes, while maintaining compliance with all relevant pharmacy regulations and upholding the highest standards of patient care and safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately process and dispense prescriptions in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
- Maintain precise patient and medication records using Titan PMR and other pharmacy management systems.
- Support the preparation and management of Medication Administration Record (MAR) charts and medication supplies for care home residents.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with care homes, GP practices, healthcare professionals, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify, investigate, and escalate medication discrepancies, incidents, and queries in a timely manner.
- Assist with stock control, inventory management, audits, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Contribute to a professional, collaborative, and patient-focused working environment.
- Support continuous improvement activities to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualified Dispenser (NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Proven experience working within a pharmacy environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to patient safety and accuracy.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
- Proficient IT skills with experience using pharmacy software and digital systems.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexible, dependable, and adaptable approach to meeting operational requirements.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience within a care home pharmacy setting.
- Experience using Titan PMR software.
- Experience preparing MAR charts and supporting electronic medication administration record (eMAR) systems.
- Experience working with Monitored Dosage Systems (MDS).
- Knowledge of care home medication ordering, dispensing, and supply processes.
