Job Summary
Hours: 2 workers required for 2 nights per week each. 10pm-8am (negotiable) and occasional evenings from 5pm.
We are seeking a dedicated Youth Support Worker to provide overnight and evening care for our son at home. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting his medical needs as well as his social and emotional wellbeing. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine youth work with medical care.
The young person has a tracheostomy, hearing impairment, ADHD and Autism.
Duties
- Provide overnight and/or evening supervision to the service user.
- Airway management of tracheostomy with Cpap, suction, oxygen therapy and nebulised medication.
- follow care plans
- Assist the service user with daily routines, meal times, and recreational activities
- Accompany the service user to extracurricular clubs - currently a Wednesday evening.
- Maintain accurate records of observations.
- Stock checking
- Light domestic tasks
Requirements
- Experience of Autism and advantage.
- Experience in a clinical role highly desirabl, but isn’t necessary.
- Valid driving licence preferred, but isn’t necessary.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while remaining vigilant and proactive
- Strong organisational skills to manage care plans and record keeping effectively.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in supporting this young person’s development and wellbeing.
Pay: £13.34 per hour
