Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Washing, peeling, and preparing ingredients for cooking or serving
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Cleaning kitchen surfaces, utensils, pots, pans, and equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Organising storage areas and ensuring all items are stored correctly
- Supporting the cleaning of dining and kitchen areas at the end of service
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Supporting chefs with various tasks as required during busy service periods
Skills
- Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen environments is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety standards
- Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or catering establishments is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
