Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, cleaning duties, and ensuring all kitchen equipment is maintained to the highest standards. Duties
- Washing, peeling, and preparing ingredients for cooking or serving
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Cleaning kitchen surfaces, utensils, pots, pans, and equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Organising storage areas and ensuring all items are stored correctly
- Supporting the cleaning of dining and kitchen areas at the end of service
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Supporting chefs with various tasks as required during busy service periods
Skills
- Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen environments is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety standards
- Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or catering establishments is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
