Overview
We are looking for a motivated and practical Furniture Warehouse Operative / Delivery Driver to join our team at Refurbs. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting our pre-loved furniture outlet, helping to provide affordable furniture to local communities while promoting reuse and sustainability.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing donated furniture for resale, carrying out collections and deliveries, maintaining attractive showroom displays, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean, inspect and carry out minor repairs to donated furniture, ensuring items are fit for reuse.
- Use hand tools, stains, waxes, dyes and polishes to improve the appearance and quality of furniture.
- Assist with stock rotation and create attractive furniture displays within the showroom.
- Assemble and dismantle furniture as required.
- Support customers with enquiries and loading purchased items safely into vehicles.
- Carry out furniture collections and deliveries across the local area.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and ensure safe transportation and handling of furniture.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety and ensure PPE is used appropriately.
- Support other operational activities and contracts as required.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, and is passionate about sustainability and giving furniture a second chance.
Key Requirements for the role:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Good practical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving furniture safely
- Enthusiastic, reliable and committed approach to work
