Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalised service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring timely delivery and presentation
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and maximise sales opportunities
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients and food safety standards
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while adhering to health and safety regulations
- Assist with basic food preparation when necessary, supporting kitchen staff as required
- Manage guest enquiries or complaints professionally, aiming for swift resolution
- Handle cash or card transactions accurately and process payments promptly
- Keep the dining area clean, organised, and presentable at all times
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations during busy periods
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a waiter in a busy restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong understanding of hospitality principles and guest service excellence
- Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for billing and transactions
- Experience with kitchen procedures or culinary practices is advantageous
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Outstanding communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
