Brunchello is a busy, independent brunch and Italian restaurant looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and hands-on Assistant Manager to join our growing team.
We’re open 12 hours a day, with shifts split between morning and evening services, so this role would suit someone who enjoys a varied working pattern. The successful candidate will work a mixture of morning and evening shifts across the week.
Hours: Approximately 30 hours per week, with overtime available
Pay: Wage dependent on experience
The Role
As Assistant Manager, you will work closely with our general manager team to support the day-to-day running of the restaurant and help lead our team to deliver a consistently high standard of food, service and hospitality.
You’ll be a hands-on member of the management team, leading by example and helping to ensure each service runs smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the management team with the daily running of the restaurant
- Leading and motivating the team during busy services
- Ensuring excellent customer service and a welcoming atmosphere
- Managing the floor and ensuring service runs efficiently
- Supporting staff training, development and onboarding
- Dealing confidently and professionally with customer queries and complaints
- Maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness and presentation
- Opening and closing the restaurant
- Assisting with cash handling and end-of-day procedures
- Supporting stock control and ordering where required
- Ensuring health & safety and food hygiene standards are maintained
- Helping to keep the team organised and motivated throughout each service
About You
We’re looking for someone with previous experience in a hospitality supervisory or management role who is ready to take the next step.
You will ideally be:
- Experienced in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
- Confident leading and motivating a team
- Organised and able to remain calm under pressure
- Friendly, approachable and confident with customers
- A strong communicator with good attention to detail
- Reliable, professional and willing to lead by example
- Comfortable making decisions and dealing with problems as they arise
- Happy working both morning and evening services
- Hands-on and willing to get stuck in wherever needed
