Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Warehouse & Distribution Manager to oversee our logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing warehouse activities, coordinating transportation, and ensuring efficient supply chain processes. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of warehouse management systems, and a focus on continuous improvement to optimise operational performance. The ideal applicant will have proven supervising experience and a solid understanding of profit & loss management within a logistics environment.
Duties
- Lead and supervise warehouse staff to ensure smooth daily operations, including shipping & receiving, inventory control, and order fulfilment.
- Oversee the utilisation of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and AS400 to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Manage transportation logistics, including liaising with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and coordinating freight movements using transportation management systems.
- Implement process improvements aimed at enhancing productivity, safety, and cost-effectiveness across all warehouse functions.
- Monitor and control profit & loss statements related to warehouse operations, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Oversee the utilisation of forklifts and other warehouse equipment, ensuring safety standards are maintained at all times.
- Coordinate shipping & receiving activities, ensuring timely dispatches and deliveries in accordance with customer requirements.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular audits and risk assessments.
- Analyse supply chain data to identify opportunities for optimisation and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Extensive knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, AS400, and transportation management systems.
- Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and process optimisation techniques.
- Experience managing profit & loss accounts related to warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with 3PL providers, shipping & receiving procedures, and forklift operation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Prior experience working with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is advantageous.

Pay: £75,000.00-£90,000.00 per year
