Position Overview:
Bio-Diagnostics is seeking a commercially focused and proactive Head of Commercial & Business Development to lead the growth of established product lines and convert commercial opportunities into sustainable, repeatable revenue.
This role is responsible for identifying, developing, managing, and converting commercial opportunities across key markets and routes to market, including NHS procurement, tenders, frameworks, wholesalers, customer accounts, and wider market access opportunities.
The role is central to increasing commercial performance, strengthening customer relationships, developing new revenue streams, and ensuring that established and emerging products achieve their full market potential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Commercial and Business Development function.
- Identify, open, and convert commercial opportunities from established product lines.
- Manage NHS access routes, tender opportunities, frameworks, and procurement pathways.
- Develop customer accounts and support repeat-order growth.
- Manage quotations, follow-up, customer retention, and opportunity progression.
- Support wholesaler opportunities and wider market access activity.
- Ensure opportunities are visible, tracked, and progressed through the sales pipeline.
- Work with our Scientific Engagement & Training team where scientific credibility, technical support, customer education, or product confidence is required.
- Ensure new products and services integrate with the UK business plan.
- Provide clear commercial feedback to support product planning, forecasting, operational planning, and long-term growth.
Key Qualifications:
- A science degree in a relevant field is beneficial (e.g., immunology, microbiology, biochemistry, biomedical science, etc.).
- Proven experience in commercial development, business development, sales, or account management.
- Experience managing a commercial pipeline and converting opportunities into revenue.
- Experience in diagnostics, healthcare, NHS sales, medical products, laboratory supplies, biotechnology, or another regulated market would be highly advantageous.
- Practical understanding of NHS procurement, tenders, frameworks, or healthcare purchasing routes.
- Experience with Salesforce (or other CRM systems).
- Familiarity with Quality Management Standards such as ISO13485 and ISO9001.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organisational skills, with a strategic mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
