We are looking for energetic, friendly person who is passionate about Pizza to come and assist our Head Chef in daily operations in Gasta Port Righ on the Isle of Skye.
Our restaurant in a beautifully renovated, purpose built space is a great social hub for the island. We've invested in the best new equipment and want people who love pizza as much as we do to come on board.

As Sous Chef, you will play a hands-on role in food preparation, quality control, line management, and staff supervision. You will step in for the Head Chef in their absence, ensuring high standards of hygiene, speed, and consistency during busy lunch and dinner services.
Key Responsibilities
- Kitchen Leadership: Assist in supervising daily prep and line execution; lead, train, and support chefs and prep staff.
- Pizza & Food Preparation: Manage high-volume dough preparation, stretching, toppings, and wood-fired/deck oven execution to strict recipe standards.
- Quality Control: Ensure every dish leaving the kitchen meets temperature, presentation, and taste standards.
- Inventory & Waste Management: Monitor stock levels, rotate ingredients (FIFO), assist with ordering, and minimize food waste.
- Food Safety & Hygiene: Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, food handling, and cleanliness regulations.
- Service Management: Maintain calm, efficient ticket flow and communication between the kitchen and front-of-house staff during peak service hours.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven capability in managing kitchen staff and leading service lines under pressure.
- Valid food hygiene/safety certification (Level 2 Food Hygiene minimum, higher levels welcome).
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
