The Operations Centre Manager role at phs will involve:
- Leading and inspiring depot and field-based teams, creating a culture of accountability, engagement and high performance.
- Driving operational excellence through effective planning, routing and resource utilisation.
- Managing operational challenges and customer escalations, implementing effective solutions quickly and efficiently.
- Leading health, safety and environmental compliance, ensuring the highest operational standards are maintained
- Owning service delivery performance, ensuring exceptional customer outcomes and right-first-time completion.
- Drive sustainability, cost control and operational improvements
- Oversee Class 2 (Category C) vehicle operations in line with UK legislation and company policy, and ensure drivers hold valid Category C licences, Driver CPC and tachograph cards
- Monitor driver hours, tachograph and Working Time Directive compliance
- Overseeing fleet operations, driver compliance, vehicle maintenance and transport legislation requirements.
- Promote safe driving standards including load security and compliance with weight limits
- Coaching and developing managers and frontline colleagues, building capability and succession plans.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Delivering operational performance in line with budget, productivity and quality targets.
- Championing continuous improvement across people, processes and service delivery.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven operational leadership experience within depot, logistics, service delivery, transport or field-based environments.
- Experience leading large, diverse teams, including remote and field-based colleagues.
- A track record of improving operational performance and delivering excellent customer outcomes.
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable qualifications:
- Manager CPC.
- COTC.
- NEBOSH (or equivalent).
