Prep Chef – Production Kitchen
We are looking for a dedicated Prep Chef to join our growing production kitchen in Basingstoke.
Job Purpose
The role is focused on preparing high-quality food ready for service across our sites. You'll work closely with the Kitchen Operations Manager to produce fresh food to company specifications while maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, organisation and food safety.
This role would suit an experienced Prep Chef, Commis Chef or Chef de Partie who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen and takes pride in consistency, organisation and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare all fresh ingredients and menu items in accordance with company recipes, specifications and quality standards.
- Prepare and portion ingredients ready for daily service.
- Ensure all products are correctly labelled, dated and stored using FIFO procedures.
- Receive deliveries and rotate stock correctly.
- Assist with weekly stock counts and report shortages.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient prep kitchen.
- Complete food safety, temperature and cleaning records.
- Support service during busy periods when required.
- Follow all company food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
About You
- Previous experience as a Prep Chef, Commis Chef or Chef de Partie.
- Passionate about producing fresh, high-quality food.
- Organised, reliable and able to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on responsibility.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable (training can be provided).

Pay: £12.50-£14.81 per hour
