We are looking for a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker to join and help lead a team in providing therapeutic support to children and young people.
This family-oriented home is located just north of Hereford and provides a supportive environment for three children aged 9 to 16. The home supports children with Learning Disabilities, such as Autism and ADHD, as well as those who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences, such as neglect, and may need additional guidance for their social and emotional needs.
The children in this home are lively and adventurous, and enjoy engaging in stimulating activities such as playing games, puzzles, playing superheroes, trampolining, bike rides, playing with dolls, makeup and dress up. Activities and days out are a firm favourite, including trips to McDonald's and going shopping.
As a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will play an important role in maintaining a warm and structured home environment for the children. Leading by example, you will guide and support staff during shifts, helping to deliver compassionate, person-centred care that encourages independence, builds confidence, and supports each child’s emotional wellbeing and development, while ensuring high standards of care and safeguarding are consistently maintained.
Salary: £32,000 (Including sleep-ins)
Rota: A combination of long day shifts & 5 sleep-ins per month (37.5 hours p/w)

Role of a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker
- Foster strong, trusting relationships with young people through positive engagement
- Lead by example as a positive role model, setting high standards for your team
- Delegate responsibilities effectively, providing clear direction and support to your team
- Contribute to the care plans and risk assessments for each child, making sure information stays up-to-date and maintained
- Facilitate key worker sessions that promote growth and development
- Ensure the home remains a safe, structured, therapeutic, and nurturing environment
- Liaise with families, teachers, social workers, therapists, and external professionals
- Support children in building independence through life skill development and positive daily routines
- Provide personal care as and when is needed
- Encourage and model a culture of respect, inclusion, and high-quality care among the team
- Ensure all documentation and record-keeping are thorough and accurate
Requirements of a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker
- Must hold a Level 3 or 4 qualification in Residential Childcare (other equivalent qualifications may be considered, eg, Health & Social Care)
- Have experience supporting children with history of trauma or, SEN
- Have a genuine passion for providing holistic and therapeutic support to children
- Must be a driver with a valid UK driving license
- Have the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes long days and 5 sleep-ins per month
