Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by performing various tasks related to materials handling, stocking, and shipping & receiving. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The candidate will also be serving customers on our Trade Counter and have customer service experience.
The ideal candidate will be happy to work as part of a team, efficiently pick and pack orders and be confident enough to be face to face with customers when serving on the trade counter. Using our business software is also an essential part of the role.
Responsibilities
- Booking in and dispatching goods using our business software
- Serve customers on the Trade Counter and process sales orders
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely
- Perform picking & packing of orders accurately
- Ensure proper stocking of products in designated areas
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques and safety protocols
- Proficient in operating forklifts; certification preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) consistently throughout the shift
- Experience in construction or related fields is beneficial but not essential
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
