Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Gardening Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the maintenance and enhancement of outdoor landscapes, ensuring that gardens and green spaces are healthy, vibrant, and visually appealing. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and horticulture, along with practical experience working with various tools and plant care techniques. Responsibilities
- Assist with planting, pruning, watering, and fertilising plants and shrubs to promote healthy growth
- Use hand tools such as secateurs, spades, and rakes for garden maintenance tasks
- Utilise power tools like hedge trimmers and lawn mowers for trimming and grass cutting
- Support with landscape maintenance activities including soil preparation and mulching
- Help in the installation of new plants, flower beds, or garden features
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas by clearing debris and organising tools after use
- Follow health and safety guidelines during all gardening activities to prevent accidents or injuries
Experience
- Previous experience in gardening or horticulture is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with hand tools, irrigation systems, and power tools used in garden maintenance is advantageous
- Growing experience or knowledge of plant care techniques is desirable
- A genuine interest in gardening, landscape design, or horticulture is highly valued
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions with physical stamina for manual tasks is essential
