Experienced Physician Associate
We are seeking an experienced, reliable and professional Physician Associate to join a growing private healthcare service.
The successful candidate will provide patient consultations and clinical assessments within an agreed scope of practice, working under appropriate medical supervision.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient consultations and obtain relevant medical histories.
- Carry out appropriate clinical assessments within the agreed scope of practice.
- Review patients’ presenting concerns and identify when further investigation or medical referral may be required.
- Explain blood tests, health-screening services and clinical procedures clearly to patients.
- Review blood-test results where appropriately trained, authorised and clinically supervised.
- Communicate results to patients clearly and sensitively within the limits of the role.
- Recognise abnormal findings and escalate concerns promptly to the supervising doctor or other appropriate healthcare professional.
- Provide patients with general health information and appropriate signposting.
- Maintain complete, accurate and confidential clinical records.
- Obtain informed consent and maintain patient dignity and confidentiality.
- Follow safeguarding, infection-control, data-protection and health-and-safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with phlebotomists, healthcare assistants and other healthcare professionals.
- Support the development and safe delivery of clinical services.
- Travel to other clinic locations when required.
Essential Requirements
- A recognised postgraduate qualification as a Physician Associate.
- Current registration with the General Medical Council.
- Current or recent experience working as a Physician Associate.
- Experience taking medical histories and conducting patient assessments.
- Ability to recognise clinical concerns and escalate them appropriately.
- Clear understanding of professional boundaries and scope of practice.
- Excellent patient-care and communication skills.
- Professional, reliable, punctual and well presented.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work effectively within appropriate clinical supervision arrangements.
- Good understanding of safeguarding, infection control, consent and patient confidentiality.
- Current professional indemnity cover, where applicable.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Availability to work some weekends.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within a private clinic, GP practice, hospital or community healthcare service.
- Experience in blood testing, health screening or preventative healthcare.
- Experience reviewing and explaining pathology results within an agreed clinical framework.
- Venepuncture or IV cannulation experience.
- Current Basic Life Support training.
- Current safeguarding and infection-control training.
Working Pattern
Applicants must be able to provide regular availability and demonstrate a reasonable degree of flexibility according to patient bookings and service requirements.
