Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Production Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of heavy plant equipment. This role requires strong mechanical expertise, technical drawing interpretation, and a willingness to travel internationally to support projects on-site.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the mechanical installation, set-up, and maintenance of industrial equipment both in-house and on-site (including machine enclosures, robotic systems, welding equipment, and WAAM systems), with flexibility to travel to global locations as required.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings to ensure accurate assembly and installation
- Carry out mechanical servicing, repair, maintenance, and equipment replacement to ensure optimal performance.
- Apply practical mechanical fitting skills, including the use of hand tools and powered equipment, as well as safe mechanical handling, lifting, and slinging techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient project execution and timelines
- Perform on-site troubleshooting and support during installation and commissioning phases.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge, ensuring confidentiality and security of company information.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff or contractors
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational and computer literacy skills.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in mechanical installation of heavy plant or industrial equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally for project work
- Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on technical ability
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of welding techniques and processes
- Basic electrical knowledge or experience in industrial environments
- Experience working on international project sites
