About CPTS
Construction and Plant Training Services Ltd is an established provider of construction plant, health and safety, and management training courses and assessments.
From our purpose-built training and test centre in Wellingborough, we support individual learners and businesses across the UK. We are now looking for a confident and driven Sales Executive to help us find new customers and grow our commercial client base.
The role
This is a proactive, outbound sales position with a strong focus on finding new customers through cold calling and business development.
You will identify and contact construction companies, contractors and other prospective clients to introduce CPTS and discuss their training requirements. You will manage opportunities from the first conversation through to quotation, follow-up and confirmed booking.
You will also respond to incoming enquiries and help customers select suitable training courses.
Key responsibilities
- Find and research prospective customers
- Make outbound cold calls to construction companies and contractors
- Introduce CPTS and explain our training services
- Identify customers’ current and future training requirements
- Generate new leads and sales opportunities
- Build relationships with business owners, managers and training coordinators
- Arrange follow-up calls and maintain regular contact with prospects
- Prepare quotations and convert opportunities into confirmed bookings
- Promote relevant courses, training packages and available funding options
- Respond to incoming telephone, email and website enquiries
- Maintain accurate sales and customer records
- Work closely with the training and administration teams
- Meet agreed call, sales and revenue targets
About you
The successful candidate will be:
- Confident and comfortable making cold calls
- Motivated to find and win new customers
- Professional and persuasive on the telephone
- Target-driven and motivated by earning commission
- Resilient, positive and able to handle rejection
- Organised and consistent with sales follow-ups
- Comfortable using email, spreadsheets and customer-management systems
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Previous experience in outbound sales, telesales, business development or lead generation is preferred. Experience within construction, training, recruitment or a similar industry would be an advantage, but product and course training will be provided.
