Job Purpose
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to grow the company's travel and tourism business, attract new customers, establish relationships with corporate and travel partners, and increase sales and revenue. The role will focus on identifying new business opportunities and promoting the company's travel packages, holiday services, flight bookings, accommodation, tours and other travel-related services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the UK and international travel and tourism markets.
- Develop strategies to increase sales, customer bookings and overall company revenue.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, hotels, tour operators, travel suppliers, corporate clients and other business partners.
- Negotiate commercial terms, rates and partnership agreements with travel service providers.
- Research market trends, customer requirements, competitor activities and potential new destinations or travel products.
- Develop and promote holiday packages, tours and other travel services according to customer demand and market opportunities.
- Generate new corporate and individual customer leads through networking, referrals, partnerships and marketing activities.
- Manage business development enquiries and prepare proposals, quotations and presentations for prospective clients.
- Work closely with the reservations, customer service and marketing teams to ensure travel products are effectively promoted and delivered.
- Monitor sales performance, booking trends and business development activities and report progress to senior management.
- Maintain accurate records of business leads, clients, partnerships and commercial opportunities.
- Attend relevant travel exhibitions, networking events and business meetings to represent the company and develop new relationships.
- Support the development of the company's online presence and digital sales channels.
- Ensure business development activities comply with relevant company policies and applicable travel industry requirements.
Experience Requirements
- 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in business development, sales, travel and tourism, hospitality, or a related commercial role.
- Demonstrable experience in developing new business opportunities and generating sales.
- Experience in building and maintaining relationships with customers, suppliers and business partners.
- Previous experience within the travel agency or tourism sector is preferred.
- Experience in negotiating commercial agreements and achieving business development or sales targets would be advantageous.
Pay: £43,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
