About the role
Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick are looking for Multi-Skilled Operatives to join our manufacturing facility in Wirral. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a skilled team supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects across the UK.
As a Multi-Skilled Operative, you will work within a busy sheet metal workshop environment, supporting a range of manufacturing and fabrication activities. You will receive training to operate machinery and equipment safely whilst contributing to the efficient production and delivery of high-quality products.
What you'll be doing
- Operate fabrication process machinery, including drilling, cutting and punching machines following appropriate training.
- Use workshop hand tools and power tools, including grinders and drills.
- Assist sheet metal workers with day-to-day manufacturing activities.
- Carry out manual handling of products and steel materials.
- Prepare and clean materials ready for dispatch and shipping.
- Support the logistics team with goods-in and goods-out activities.
- Undertake additional tasks as required, with training provided where necessary.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, sustainability and Balfour Beatty values.
Who we're looking for
- Self-motivated and eager to learn.
- Experienced in a fabrication or manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Committed to following processes, instructions and safety procedures.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on environment involving manual handling activities.
- Hold a Forklift Certificate (desirable but not essential).
