Chef de Partie/Breakfast Chef – KIN Cafe
KIN Cafe is a plant-based and vegetarian eatery located just a 7-minute walk from Oxford Circus in Central London.
We focus on a creative, seasonal menu, working with some of the best suppliers and farmers across the UK and making the most of the produce available to us.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Chef de Partie/Breakfast Chef who is ready to take on a new challenge, develop their skills and become an important part of our kitchen team.
Working alongside the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about food, takes pride in their work and enjoys working as part of a busy, supportive brigade.
The Role
Your primary responsibility will be working as a chef within the kitchen, helping to deliver consistently high-quality food and supporting the smooth running of service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Working alongside the Head Chef and Sous Chef to organise and execute daily kitchen operations and events.
- Preparing ingredients and dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Assisting with kitchen orders, stock and inventory.
- Following recipes, techniques and portion standards to ensure consistency.
- Maintaining excellent standards of hygiene, cleanliness and food safety at all times.
- Supporting and working closely with the wider kitchen team during busy services.
- Helping to train and share knowledge of recipes and kitchen techniques where appropriate.
- Taking responsibility for your section and ensuring it is organised, clean and ready for service.
- Communicating effectively with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Supporting the kitchen wherever you are needed to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
A Hands-On & Diverse Role
At KIN, we believe everyone in the kitchen contributes to the whole operation. While your primary role will be as a chef, this is a hands-on position and there will be times when you’ll be expected to help with the more basic practical tasks needed to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
This can include things such as washing up, cleaning, moving stock, taking food or equipment up and down, helping with deliveries and other general kitchen duties.
We’re looking for someone who is happy to get stuck in, doesn't mind getting their hands dirty and understands that every job in a kitchen is important.
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for food and working with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
- Has experience working in a professional kitchen, whether as a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie.
- Is organised, reliable and able to work well under pressure.
- Has excellent attention to detail.
- Is a strong team player with good communication skills.
- Is willing to learn, develop and take on new responsibilities.
- Has a positive attitude and is happy to support the team wherever needed.
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards of food, cleanliness and presentation.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with the right attitude, someone who is hardworking, enthusiastic and willing to be part of the team.
