About KEOPS
KEOPS Interlock designs, supplies and installs high-quality timber buildings, including log cabins, garden rooms and bespoke outdoor structures.
We are looking to recruit a proactive and commercially minded Sales Consultant to help grow the business, manage customer enquiries, attend face-to-face appointments and turn opportunities into confirmed orders.
This is not a passive sales role. We are looking for someone who can manage a sales pipeline properly, follow up opportunities professionally, build relationships, generate new business and play an active role in how we manage enquiries, quotations and customer communication now and going forward.
The Role
As a Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for handling customer enquiries from initial contact through to quotation and sale. You will run customer appointments and occasional site consultations, understand what the customer is looking to achieve, assess practical requirements, offer expert advice and prepare quotations using our existing pricing and specification framework.
You will also be expected to manage your sales pipeline effectively, follow up outstanding quotations, re-engage previous enquiries, identify new opportunities and contribute to the growth of the business. This may include using professional networks, local contacts, social media platforms and relevant networking events to create conversations, build relationships and identify potential sales opportunities.
The right person will be confident speaking to customers face-to-face, commercially aware, organised and able to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Run face-to-face customer appointments, consultations and site visits.
- Understand customer requirements, budgets, preferences and practical site considerations.
- Prepare accurate quotations using our existing pricing, specification and document framework.
- Manage a clear sales pipeline from enquiry through to quotation, follow-up and confirmed order.
- Follow up quotations professionally and consistently to maximise conversion.
- Manage inbound enquiries promptly and effectively.
- Proactively generate new business opportunities.
- Re-engage previous enquiries, old leads and potential customers.
- Build relationships with customers, suppliers, landscapers, trades, developers and other potential referral partners.
- Use professional networking, local connections, social media and relevant networking events to identify and develop new sales opportunities.
- Keep clear and accurate records of enquiries, quotes, follow-ups and customer communication.
- Work with the internal team to ensure quotes are realistic, buildable and commercially sensible.
- Help improve our sales process, follow-up system and customer journey.
- Represent KEOPS professionally at customer homes, business premises, shows, appointments and networking events.
- Work towards agreed sales targets and performance goals.
About You
We are looking for someone with a proven track record in face-to-face, consultative or direct sales.
Experience in log cabins, garden buildings, construction, landscaping, home improvements, fitted furniture, kitchens, bathrooms, windows, doors, conservatories or similar would be highly relevant, although the right attitude and sales ability are more important than direct industry experience.
You should be confident meeting customers, asking the right questions, understanding their needs, explaining options clearly, overcoming objections and closing sales.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in face-to-face sales, consultative sales or direct sales.
- Confident attending customer appointments and site consultations.
- Able to understand customer requirements and translate them into a clear quotation.
- Comfortable working from pricing structures, product options and specification frameworks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated and results-driven.
- Able to manage a sales pipeline and follow up opportunities without being prompted.
- Organised and able to keep accurate records.
- Comfortable using basic IT systems, spreadsheets, documents and email.
- Honest, reliable and professional.
- Full UK driving licence and access to reliable transport.
- Willingness to travel to customer appointments.
- Flexible approach to working hours where customer appointments require it.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience selling garden buildings, timber buildings, home improvements, construction products or similar.
- Experience preparing quotations for bespoke or semi-bespoke products.
- Ability to read basic plans, sketches or site measurements.
- Experience using CRM systems or sales tracking software.
- Experience generating new business, not just handling inbound enquiries.
- A track record of using social media, networking or local relationship-building to create sales opportunities.
- Experience attending networking events, trade events or local business groups to develop sales opportunities.
- Basic measuring or site survey experience.
- CAD or design software experience would be useful but is not essential.
What We Offer
- A basic salary with a strong bonus / commission structure.
- The opportunity to earn significantly more through performance.
- A growing business with real opportunity to make an impact.
- Existing enquiries, customer base and brand reputation to build from.
- Training on our products, pricing framework and quoting process.
- Supportive team environment.
- Scope to help shape and improve the sales process as the role develops.
- A role suited to someone who wants responsibility, ownership and reward for results.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal person for this role will be commercially hungry but professional. You will be someone who enjoys meeting customers, understanding what they want, building trust and closing business.
You will be expected to manage opportunities properly, maintain a clear sales pipeline, follow up professionally, look for new business and help drive KEOPS forward.
If you have a strong track record in face-to-face sales and want a role where your effort and results directly affect your earnings, we would like to hear from you.
