About Us
Southern Softflow is a leading water softener company serving customers across the South of England. We specialise in the installation and maintenance of water softeners, drinking water systems, and boiling taps. Since Keith Martin founded the business over 25 years ago, our growth has been built on one thing, honest advice and excellent service.
We’re now looking for the right person to join our servicing team - someone who shares our values and wants to build our reputation for excellent service.
Plumbing experience is sought, as visits can sometimes require further plumbing work and this enables us to achieve resolution for our customers in one visit.
The Role
This is a varied, field-based role working directly with our customers across our service area. Following your training, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Attending existing customers for call-out or planned maintenance visits
- Swapping out and replacing water softeners
- Servicing and installing drinking water systems
- Carrying out repairs and replacements of drinking water taps
- Occasional additional general plumbing work, dependent on experience
- Contributing to a small, close-knit team and always looking for ways to improve the Southern Softflow experience for our customers
Who We’re Looking For
Above all, we’re looking for someone honest, trustworthy, and genuinely committed to doing right by our customers. You’ll need the confidence to handle varied situations calmly and the determination to see problems through to a solution.
An inquisitive mindset and a strong instinct for problem-solving are key. Backgrounds in service engineering or mechanics translate well to this role, but we’re equally open to candidates from other hands-on, customer-facing trades.
Requirements
- A full, clean UK driving licence (essential — a company van will be provided)
- Previous experience in a service engineer, mechanic, or similar hands-on technical role
- Strong customer-facing skills and a professional, friendly manner
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own day
- Physically fit and able to carry out installations and maintenance work
- Relevant plumbing or water treatment qualifications are an advantage, but not essential
Area Covered
We cover a broad territory across the South, including Dorchester to the West, across the New Forest to the East, and beyond Salisbury to the North.
