Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Qualified Dental Nurse to join our dental team in our busy mixed NHS and Private dental surgery. This role is for 3 days a week, days to be discussed at interview and a Thursday is essential. In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care, assist dentists during procedures, and ensure the smooth operation of daily clinic activities.
Duties
- Support dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilised effectively
- Provide compassionate patient care by explaining treatments, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient comfort throughout appointments
- Assist with patient record management using IT systems, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation
- Ensure the clinical environment adheres to health and safety standards, including infection control protocols
- Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow efficiently to optimize clinic productivity
- Communicate clearly with patients in English, providing instructions for post-treatment care and answering questions confidently
- Maintain organised clinical areas, stock supplies, and ensure all equipment is functioning properly
Skills
- Strong patient care skills with a friendly, professional approach that puts patients at ease
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively interact with patients, colleagues, and external providers
- Proficiency in IT systems for managing patient records and clinic administration
- Solid organisational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of nursing principles applied within dental settings, including infection control and sterilisation procedures
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while demonstrating initiative and reliability
- Clear understanding of dental procedures and the role of a qualified dental nurse in supporting clinical excellence
