Balfour Beatty is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of Temporary Site Services at Old Oak Common Station, a flagship part of the HS2 programme.
This is an exciting opportunity for an electrically biased engineer to play a key role in delivering and maintaining the temporary electrical infrastructure that supports one of Europe's largest construction sites. Working alongside the Project Manager, you'll coordinate electrical installations, manage subcontractors, monitor performance and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting the delivery of temporary site electrical services across a major infrastructure project
- Coordinating electrical installation, maintenance and testing activities
- Managing subcontractors, labour, plant and materials to support project delivery
- Overseeing temporary power distribution systems, site lighting, generators and associated electrical infrastructure
- Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and installation methodologies
- Monitoring progress, maintaining project records and producing regular reports
- Developing and reviewing short-term programmes and work schedules
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards
- Supporting inspection, testing, commissioning and handover activities
- Working closely with commercial, operational and design teams to identify risks and opportunities
Who we're looking for
- Experience in an Electrical Project Engineer, Electrical Site Engineer, Package Engineer or similar role
- Experience delivering electrical works within construction, infrastructure, utilities, rail or major projects
- Strong understanding of electrical systems installation and project delivery
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
- Strong organisational, planning and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project reporting systems
- Experience working on large infrastructure or rail projects
- Knowledge of temporary site services, temporary power, site compounds or construction utilities
- Understanding of commissioning, testing and energisation processes
- Knowledge of project planning, risk management and commercial controls
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- City & Guilds 18th Edition qualification or similar electrical accreditation
