Part-Time Sales Negotiator / Sales Progressor
Hockeys Estate Agents – Linton, Cambridgeshire
£15.00 per hour
Monday, Wednesday and Friday – 8:45am to 5:30pm
24.75 hours per week
Occasional Saturdays to cover holidays
Looking for a varied part-time role where no two days are quite the same?
Hockeys Estate Agents is looking for a confident, organised and personable individual to join our small team in Linton.
Established in 1885, Hockeys is one of Cambridgeshire’s best-known independent estate agents. Our Linton office covers the village and surrounding South Cambridgeshire area and we are looking for someone who can work closely with our Sales Manager, and become an important part of the day-to-day running of the branch.
This isn’t simply an administration job and it isn’t a traditional high-pressure sales role either.
It is a varied position combining customer service, property viewings, sales progression, enquiries, administration and supporting the Sales Manager.
You might already have estate agency experience, but you certainly don’t need to.
Someone with experience in banking, administration, professional services, customer service, recruitment or another client-facing environment could be an excellent fit.
More important to us is finding the right person.
What will you be doing?
A typical day could include:
- Meeting and speaking with buyers and sellers, both in the office and over the telephone.
- Responding to new property and viewing enquiries.
- Registering buyers and discussing their property requirements.
- Booking and conducting property viewings around Linton and the surrounding villages.
- Following up viewings and providing feedback to sellers.
- Helping progress agreed sales from offer through to exchange and completion.
- Speaking with buyers, sellers, solicitors and other parties involved in a property transaction.
- Keeping clients updated and helping to make sure sales continue moving forward.
- Preparing property information and updating our systems.
- General branch administration.
- Supporting our Sales Manager, so that he can concentrate on valuations, winning new business and generating sales.
- Generally getting stuck in and helping wherever needed.
Who are we looking for?
You don’t need to be an estate agent.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Confident speaking to people face-to-face and over the telephone.
- Friendly, approachable and professional.
- Well organised and able to prioritise their own workload.
- Comfortable chasing things when necessary rather than waiting for them to happen.
- Good at building relationships with customers.
- Able to deal confidently with professionals such as solicitors.
- Reliable and happy working as part of a small team.
- Comfortable using computers and learning new systems.
- Someone who takes pride in doing things properly.
Previous sales, administration or customer service experience would be useful.
Estate agency or sales progression experience would be a bonus, but we are very happy to train the right person.

There will also be occasional Saturday working to help cover holidays.
Salary
£15.00 per hour
Based on the normal 24.75-hour working week, this is approximately £19,300 per annum before any additional hours.

What happens longer term?
Although we are recruiting for these hours now, there may be the opportunity for the role to develop further.
As the Linton office continues to grow, there is the potential for additional hours and a larger permanent role during 2027 for the right person.
For somebody interested in developing a longer-term career in estate agency, there may also be opportunities to learn other aspects of the business over time.
