Palace House Care Home is seeking a compassionate, dependable and clinically confident Registered Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team.

About the Role
As a Registered Nurse, you will take an active role in planning and delivering safe, effective and compassionate nursing care.
Working closely with care colleagues, GPs and other healthcare professionals, you will help ensure that every resident receives personalised clinical support in a comfortable, respectful and welcoming environment.
You will also provide professional guidance to care staff, lead by example and contribute to the continuous improvement of our service.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality nursing care in accordance with residents’ individual care plans
- Assessing residents’ needs and monitoring changes in their health and wellbeing
- Taking, interpreting and accurately recording clinical observations
- Developing, reviewing and updating person-centred care plans
- Completing detailed clinical and environmental risk assessments
- Maintaining clear, accurate and confidential clinical documentation
- Administering medication safely in line with NMC guidance and care home policies
- Monitoring residents’ nutrition, hydration and overall wellbeing
- Recognising deterioration and taking appropriate clinical action
- Working collaboratively with GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Supporting, supervising and mentoring care staff and junior nurses
- Preparing residents for treatments, examinations and procedures when required
- Ensuring medication is stored, managed and disposed of safely
- Monitoring clinical stock and maintaining appropriate stock levels
- Participating in clinical audits, quality-improvement work and service development
- Assisting with investigations into incidents, complaints or safeguarding concerns
- Reporting concerns and providing clear clinical handovers during every shift
- Maintaining your NMC registration and continuing professional development
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Current and valid NMC registration as a Registered Nurse
- At least one year of nursing experience
- Up-to-date clinical knowledge and safe nursing practice
- Experience administering medication safely
- Experience creating person-centred care plans and risk assessments
- A good understanding of CQC standards and current regulatory requirements
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good IT, documentation and record-keeping skills
- The ability to remain calm and make sound clinical decisions under pressure
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- A caring, professional and positive approach
- A genuine commitment to safe, compassionate and person-centred care
Desirable Skills
The following would be an advantage:
- IV therapy skills
- Syringe driver training
- Venepuncture training
- A teaching, mentoring or supervision qualification
- Previous experience supporting or supervising care staff
