The Kings Head – Horley
Toast Office Pubs Ltd is an independent pub company that owns and runs The Kings Head in Horley. We absolutely love pubs, so we thought we’d get a few for ourselves.
We’re now looking for a reliable, hands-on Bar Team Member to join us and help keep the pub running smoothly day to day.
This is an opportunity to work in the busiest and best pub in Horley.
Our aim is to have more pubs in the next 10 years than that horrible blue-spotted plate place where you have to trek upstairs to use the toilet.
About the Role
You’ll be right in the middle of the action — serving customers, keeping standards high, and helping create the atmosphere that makes people want to stay for “just one more.”
No two shifts are the same, and we like it that way.
About You
We’re looking for someone with big energy who loves hospitality and brings the buzz to the pub
- Previous bar or hospitality experience is ideal (but not essential if you’re the right person)
- Able to set an alarm clock
- Can start and finish a task in the same day
- Good with people — even the ones that don’t make any sense and love the word ‘Tripadvisor’
- Can confidently produce boring small talk for regulars at the end of the bar
- Not afraid to get stuck in when it’s busy
- Understands (or is willing to learn) how pubs actually work
- Bonus points if you know your way around Facebook/Instagram
Most importantly — you actually like pubs, and you enjoy being part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
Service & Operations
- Serving drinks and food efficiently and with a smile
- Keeping the bar clean, stocked, and organised
- Supporting smooth day-to-day running of shifts
- Opening or closing duties when required
Customer Experience
- Making sure every customer has a great time
- Handling basic customer queries and issues
- Creating a welcoming and lively atmosphere
Teamwork
- Working closely with the rest of the team across bar and floor
- Supporting colleagues during busy periods
- Being someone others actually enjoy working with
Standards & Compliance
- Following all licensing laws and company procedures
- Supporting food hygiene and health & safety standards
- Helping maintain a clean, safe, and well-run pub
