Job Summary
The Sales Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting DB Plastics sales and customer services operations. The role combines administrative, operational and customer-facing responsibilities to ensure smooth sales processes, high-quality service and effective communication with both domestic (UK) and export markets. The role involves providing fast and professional responses to customer enquiries and orders, raising sales orders within ERP system and keeping customers updated throughout the order lifecycle from initial enquiry through to shipment. Additionally, the role supports the external Sales team, proactive customer engagement and general administrative assistance to ensure the efficient operation of the Sales function.
Key Responsibilities
Order Processing Management
- Accurately input new orders into the ERP system in a timely manner
- Manage customer expectations regarding delivery timelines
- Progress outstanding orders and communicate lead times
- Monitor and control call-off orders to ensure compliance with despatch schedules
- Issue order acknowledgments and confirmations
Order Planning & Despatch
- Liaise with production planning to ensure timely despatch of materials
- Communicate order amendments to planning and production teams
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics regarding shipments and discrepancies
- Support external sales and laboratory teams with sample despatches
- Resolve delivery issues including delays and non-deliveries
Customer Engagement
- Build trust and rapport quickly with prospective clients
- Handle objections professionally and confidently
- Maintain a positive, persuasive tone throughout conversations
Requirements and Qualifications
- Telesales experience
- Good telephone manner
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication, written and verbal skills
- Interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
- IT literate, including MS word, Excel
- Experienced user of ERP systems such as SAP, Priority and Salesforce etc.
- Commercial acumen
- Lead generation experience
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
