Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced chef/cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering high-quality food In a busy village pub. This role involves food production, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation. The person will play a vital role in maintaining an organised kitchen environment and maintaining relevant food safety practices.
Responsibilities
- carry out daily food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to foster a collaborative team environment
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist with training new team members in food preparation, safety procedures, and service protocols
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor kitchen cleanliness and organisation throughout shifts to uphold health and safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience within a busy kitchen or hospitality environment
- Extensive food production including food preparation and cooking techniques
- Excellent knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and other departments
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service through high-quality food presentation and service standards

Pay: £15.00-£17.00 per hour
