Newlands Care Home is a 22-bedded care home, located on Thistle Street in Dunfermline, providing compassionate care for the frail elderly, including those living with dementia. Summary
We are looking for a weekend kitchen porter to support the cook in our kitchen and work as part of the team. This job involves helping the cook serve dinner, washing dishes, and tidying the kitchen surfaces, microwave and sinks at the end of the day. The Kitchen porter will also wipe down the fridges and sweep and mop the pantry. There will be other ad hoc jobs to be completed.
Saturday and Sunday 4:30pm - 6pm (This would be ideal for a candidate age 16 - 18 looking for a part time weekend role or their first job)
Don’t worry no previous experience is required, we will teach you everything you need to know to carry out the role, we just need your commitment and a good work ethic.
The right person will be able to work fast and efficiently, have the ability to learn quickly and be able to multitask. You must be organised, good at time management, reliable and have high standards of cleanliness. There is an element of physical fitness required for the role as you will be lifting heavy dishwashing trays into and out of the dishwasher.
Lastly, we are looking for someone who has a good sense of humour and is a confident communicator. Our residents do like a joke or two and a bit of banter! Residents like to get to know you and will always give you a wave on their way past.
Rate of pay meets national minimum wage/national living wage (wage dependent on age)
5.6 weeks holiday a year
PVG is required but will be paid for by the home.
