The Research and Impact Team is a team of five professional services colleagues, led by the Head of R&I. As part of the Bartlett faculty office, it supports, develops, and sustains the vibrancy of the Bartlett’s research and impact environments. It does this by leading on strategic faculty projects, creating and deploying cross-faculty infrastructure, and developing and sharing our knowledge and expertise. R&I works in tandem with the faculty’s professional services and academic leadership, UCL’s professional services community, and colleagues across our nine departments to create the conditions for our collective research and impact environments to be equitable, rigorous, connected, and dynamic. Through our services and principles of transparency, equity, accuracy, and reflection, R&I develops and sustains research and impact environments that inspire our colleagues and empowers them to create important and impactful research and partnerships.
This role is available for a 12-month fixed term or internal secondment. The Research and Impact Coordinator will play a key role in contributing to the services offered by the Faculty R&I Team. A core focus of the role will be the delivery of administrative support to the Team and to relevant members of Faculty leadership, as required. This will include: provision of committee secretariat services; assistance with the management of research and impact events; assistance with funding calls and processes; assistance with preparations for the Faculty's Research Excellence Framework (REF) and Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) submissions; content management support for the R&I Team's online Sharepoint pages, and management of the R&I Team's digital files.
The role requires interaction with many people across the Faculty and UCL more broadly, as well as those external to UCL, so we are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who enjoys working with a broad range of people. Experience of committee administration is essential in this busy role, as are excellent project management skills and attention to detail and written skills. You will be an essential part of a team who support the research and impact infrastructure across the Faculty, so having a demonstrable interest in key issues in the current research and impact landscape in higher education is important and means you will you get the most out of the role. If you wish to discuss the post informally, please contact the Head of the Research and Impact team, Dr Julie Hipperson, Head of the Research and Impact team – [email protected]
