Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Nursery Lunch Time Cover Assistant to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will provide essential supervision and care during lunchtime, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children. Your leadership and management skills will help create a positive experience for children during their midday break, supporting their social, emotional, and physical development. Duties
- Supervise children during lunchtime activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Assist with mealtime routines, including serving food and encouraging healthy eating habits
- Support children in developing social skills through positive interaction and guidance
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area, adhering to hygiene standards and health regulations
- Communicate effectively with staff, children, and parents to promote a welcoming environment
- Manage behavior calmly and confidently, implementing appropriate strategies to support children’s needs
- Support nursery staff with additional responsibilities as needed to ensure smooth lunchtime operations
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or early childhood education setting is highly desirable
- Strong management and leadership skills to oversee children’s safety and behavior during busy periods
- Knowledge of childcare best practices, health & safety standards, and hygiene protocols
- Excellent communication skills in English to interact effectively with children, parents, and team members
- Experience working with diverse groups of young children to foster inclusive play and learning environments
- Ability to drive is a nice-to-have skill that may assist with transportation or related duties if required
