Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team at one of our clients reputable care homes. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our residents, supporting their individual needs, and supervising junior staff members. The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for assisting with daily activities, implementing care plans, medication duties, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all residents.
Responsibilities
- Provide personalised care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans
- Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a team-oriented atmosphere
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility
- Monitor residents’ health and well-being, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
- Lead by example in delivering compassionate and respectful care
- Organise and participate in activities that promote social engagement and mental stimulation
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care environment
- Support residents with medication management as per prescribed instructions
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care
Experience
- Previous experience working within a care home or senior care setting is essential
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare environment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to implement them effectively
- Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs if required
- Proficiency in IT systems utilised for record keeping and communication purposes

Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
