Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping tailored to each dog’s breed, size, and individual needs
- Assess each dog’s coat condition and skin health, recommending appropriate grooming routines or treatments
- Maintain a clean and safe grooming environment by sanitizing tools and work areas regularly
- Communicate clearly with pet owners about grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions
- Handle dogs with gentle care and patience, ensuring a stress-free experience for both pets and owners
- Assist with animal care duties such as feeding or basic health checks when needed
- Lift heavy dogs safely during grooming procedures to ensure proper handling and safety
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dog grooming or animal care is highly preferred; veterinary experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of different dog breeds’ grooming requirements and coat types
- Excellent customer service skills to engage pet owners positively and professionally
- Ability to lift heavy dogs safely and comfortably during grooming tasks
