Kings Walk café is a local family run business. We have a 75 cover café / coffee shop in Grantham town centre. We are well established and have a great friendly and loyal customer base. We are looking for a passionate, dynamic and capable individual to join our team and take a vested interest in assisting us to the next step of our plan for growth.
We are a small team, who works considerably hard to make our vision happen. Only the right person will make a difference and help strengthen our business. Our mission is to provide a good back to basics customer experience to Meet, Eat and Relax. Consistency is key, no matter who is serving, who is cooking, who is managing. What time it is , how busy it is etc. Consistency is absolutely key. Good fresh well prepared food served with a friendly, personal and genuine customer interaction where the customers needs are met, ideally excelled, and they leave feeling like they mattered and are valued. They love us, talk about us behind our back and return….often and bring friends.
Main Duties include:
- Barista skills - preparing coffee to a high and consistent standard
- Being a valued reliable abs capable member of a small shift team of 2-3.
- Welcoming every customer on arrival
- Operating the till, and balancing it on a daily basis
- Consistency in products and service – Absolute Must!
- Serving food and drinks
- Clearing tables and operating dishwash
- Following company procedures in respect of all aspects – presentation, conduct, cleanliness, process, record keeping etc
- Team work and taking the counter lead on shift as and when required.
- Completing required records and paperwork
Skills and attributes required:

- Creating a customer focussed, friendly warm atmosphere for our guests.
- Personal and positive communications with customers and colleagues
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and with purpose.
- Previous experience essential (1 year) making coffee (barista)
- Dealing with issues as they arise – problem solving
- Following instruction – without exception
- Positive ‘can do’ attitude.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Trustworthy, honest and direct.
- Experience and qualifications required – minimum and recent experience of 12 months in each area

Flexibility for shifts
We currently open 6 days per week from 8:30am until 3pm.
You will be required to be flexible and available on Saturdays for up to 7 hour shift
weekday shifts could be available if suits both parties
Additional hours may be required to cover staff sickness, absence, or holiday.
Wages are based on the current national minimum wage with tips in addition. Company pension for those who qualify, team building evenings etc. Free drinks and staff food entitlement during shifts.
