We are looking for a friendly, responsible, self-motivated and reliable self-employed driver to work on our vans on an occasional basis, covering our full-time drivers’ holidays and absences, busy periods, depending on your availability.
Contract: Self-employed / Ad-hoc (flexible)
Pay: £15 per hour
Location: Hyde (start and finish point)
Role overview:
You will be collecting donated goods for our charity from households, clothing banks and schools across the North West area.
A typical working day is 9:00am – 5:30pm (including a 30-minute unpaid break).
Routes usually consist of up to 25 stops per day, with collections of up to 1000kg, which will need to be unloaded at our warehouse at the end of the day.
This is a flexible role based on your availability, with the opportunity to progress into a full-time employed position in the future.
Requirements:
- Must have the right to work in the UK
- Self-employed status (or willing to register)
- Experienced driver with a relatively clean driving licence
- Preferred DBS check certificate
- Previous experience in a similar role beneficial
- Ability to communicate in English in a friendly and professional manner
- Physically able to lift and carry bags of donated clothing
- Reliable and able to cover shifts at short notice when required
