Al-Rushd Independent School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Support Officer to support the academic progress, personal development and wellbeing of our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor students’ attendance, punctuality, behaviour and academic progress.
- Provide pastoral, motivational and practical support to students.
- Conduct regular progress meetings and maintain accurate records.
- Identify students requiring additional support and arrange appropriate interventions.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding students’ progress and concerns.
- Work closely with teachers and school leaders to improve student engagement.
- Promote good character, discipline, Islamic values and Tarbiyyah.
- Support safeguarding and student wellbeing in line with school policies.
- Prepare progress reports, action plans and meeting notes.
- Assist with parent meetings and other school activities when required.
Essential Requirements
- An ʿĀlimiyyah or Islamic Theology qualification from a reputable institution.
- A minimum of two A-Levels or equivalent qualifications; three A-Levels are desirable.
- A strong understanding of Islamic values, manners and student Tarbiyyah.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational, administrative and record-keeping abilities.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and online school systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Availability to work from our Stratford office.
Desirable Requirements
- A degree in Education, Psychology, Youth Work, Social Sciences or a related field.
- Previous experience in student support, pastoral care, education or administration.
- Knowledge of the British education system and National Curriculum.
- Experience supporting secondary or sixth-form students.
